An innovative approach to homelessness

EGG (Engage, Grow, Go) is a Manchester and Stockport-based charity dedicated to supporting people with experience of homelessness across Greater Manchester. Unlike many charities, we focus on long-term solutions—helping individuals move from the streets into stable homes, employment, or self-employment.
Founded by Jonathan Billings, who has over 25 years of experience in the homeless community, EGG was created to address the root causes of homelessness, not just its symptoms. We work exclusively with those committed to rebuilding their lives, offering tailored mentoring and rehabilitation to support their journey back into society.
We believe in long-term solutions to homelessness. Our tailored support helps individuals rebuild their lives, offering practical assistance, mentorship, and career opportunities. By working alongside local charities, we ensure every client gets the right help at the right time. Whether someone is ready for full-time support or needs a referral, we never turn anyone away.
Once someone experiencing homelessness joins EGG, they become a client. We provide long-term, tailored support to help them transform their lives.
Each client receives one-to-one mentoring, guiding them through challenges and helping them achieve their personal goals.
We assist with essential needs, including:
We work alongside other Stockport and Manchester charities, complementing their efforts rather than duplicating services. This ensures our clients receive well-rounded support.
Not everyone is ready for full-time support, but we never turn anyone away. If someone isn’t prepared for our programme, we connect them with the right resources to get the help they need.
